Founder of Shine & Thrive Kinderkinetics

Hi, I'm Jessica Loudon, the founder of Shine & Thrive Kinderkinetics. I completed my Honours degree in Kinderkinetics at Stellenbosch University, and I am deeply passionate about supporting children through movement in a way that builds confidence, connection, and capability.

Supporting children through movement, motor development and confidence-building at their own pace

My Approach

What drew me to Kinderkinetics is the opportunity to work closely with children — getting to know them as individuals and supporting them at their own pace. I believe that strong fundamental motor skills are the foundation for healthy development, learning, and self-belief later in life.

Special interest in supporting neurodivergent children, toddlers and child development through movement

I have a special interest in working with toddlers and neurodivergent children. I am particularly motivated by the small, meaningful moments — the trust built over time, a child trying again, or the quiet milestone that might seem small to others but means everything to that child.

Special Interests

Helping children build confidence, motor skills and a lifelong love of movement through Kinderkinetics

At Shine & Thrive, every child is met with patience, care, and encouragement. My goal is to create a safe, positive space where children feel supported, proud of their progress, and confident in their own abilities.

My Goal

Our Vision

At Shine & Thrive Kinderkinetics, our mission is to make a meaningful difference in as many children’s lives as possible by helping them grow, move, and thrive through confident, play-based movement. We are committed to supporting the overall development of children through purposeful, play-based movement that builds strong fundamental motor skills for life, creating a lifelong foundation for movement, learning, self-belief, and future development.

We believe that confident movement builds confident, independent children, which is why one of our key focuses is on how children feel while they move. Through age-appropriate, individualised and group programmes, we support overall child development including physical, emotional, and cognitive development. In the same way a house is built, physical development lays the foundation, emotional and social development form the walls, and cognitive development creates the roof.

We take the time to truly get to know each child — how they move, how they learn, and what they need — meeting them at their own pace. Progress is not only measured in milestones, but in the quiet moments, celebrating one small win at a time: the courage to try again, the balance held a little longer, and the moment a child realises, “I can do this.” While purposefully supporting the development of gross motor skills and overall health, we create a space where children feel safe, motivated, and understood.

At Shine & Thrive, every child is met with patience, care, and encouragement, creating a positive space where children feel supported, proud of their progress, and confident in their own abilities — giving every child the chance to shine. Beyond our practice, we are committed to making an impact in the broader community by supporting less fortunate children through fundraising initiatives, outreach, and giving of our time.
